He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel, Sr. Gillard and Bessie Gillard; and his siblings, Lenna, Lizzy, Sue, Mary Ruth, Sam, Henry, Felix, Clifton, Anice, Kimberly and Angel.
He is survived by: his children, Chester Gillard, Jr. (Judy) of Scottsville, Texas, Tracy Hawthorn (Jon) of Pittsburg, Texas and Becky Linder of Petal, Mississippi; and his brothers, Jimmy Gillard (Terry), Cecil Gillard (Pam) and Johnny Gillard. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren.
