He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Daniel Odell and Bertha Leona Odell (Rogers); his siblings, James Patterson, Exie Mae Seal and Mary Lou Carr; and his nephew Gerald Brown, Jr..
He is survived by: his spouse Myria Jane Hearn; his nieces, Malissa Simmons and Audrey Beard; and also Myria Odell. He is also survived by numerous other nieces, nephews.
