He was predeceased by: his parents, Esteban Soto and Virginia Soto; and his brothers, Modesto, Juan, Tomas and Pedro Soto.

He is survived by: his wife Aurelia Soto; his children, Irasema Padilla (Jose), Raul Soto, Jr. (Sonia), Eduardo Soto and Rolando Soto (Leticia); his grandchildren, Steven Mendoza (Heather), Marc Soto (Kayla), Andrea Soto, Joseph Padilla and Matthew Soto; his great grandchildren, Natalie Mendoza, Sydney Mendoza and Steven Mendoza, Jr.; and his brother Santos Martinez (Berta). He is also survived by his family, and friends.
