He was predeceased by: his mother Maria Estefana Botello; and his brother Jacinto Mendiola. He is survived by: his wife Diana Mendiola; his daughters, Marissa Mendiola, Brianna Leathers (Michael) and Julissa Mendiola (Charles Ybarra); his grandchildren, Kayla, Devin, Zoey, Miles and Noah; and his siblings, Guadalupe Trevino, Juanita Hernandez and John Herrera (Patti).
