He was predeceased by: his parents, Reynaldo Tijerina and Elisa Castillo Tijerina; and his siblings, Noe Tijerina, Elias Tijerina, Ruben Castillo and Ester Magallan.
He is survived by: his wife Minerva; and his children, Estella Irene Bitner (Hubert) of Plano, Rodolfo Tijerina (Maria) of Houston, Samuel Luis Tijerina (Kathy) of Ohio, Isaac Roberto Tijerina of McAllen, David Tijerina Jr. (Marcie) of Houston, Adan Tijerina (Marivel) of Edinburg, Eva Ruth Alfaro (Israel), Sara Tijerina Quezada (Jonathan) of Pharr and Jennifer Tijerina of Pharr.
