He was predeceased by: his parents, Pedro Esparza and Guadalupe Esparza (Mendez); his mother-in-law Rosa (Rodriguez); his brother-in-law Joe (Rodriguez); his siblings, David, Jimmy, Juanas, Leonor, Cleofas and Lupe; and his daughter-in-law Juanita.

He is survived by: his wife Ventura DeLeon; his children, Rose Mary (Johnny) and John; his siblings, Mary (Luna), Pete and Jesse; his grandchildren, Chris (Jennifer), Florinda, Stephanie, Michael (Castro), Veronica (Omar) and Marcos; and his great grandchild Dameion (Cavazos).

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Cook-Walden Funeral Home (6100 N Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX 78752). A rosary will be held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church (1206 E 9th St, Austin, TX 78702). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home & Cemetery (14501 N Interstate Hwy 35, Pflugerville, TX 78660).
