He was predeceased by: his parents, Ramon Garcia and Petra Garcia; his sister Emma; his brother-in-law Tim Ontiveros; his brother-in-law Alex Mendoza; his great-niece Amanda Torres; his nephews, Tony Garcia Jr. and Frank Garcia; his stepgrandson Larry Irvin; and also Eddie Garcia.
He is survived by: his wife Jackie Garcia; his sons, Joe Garcia Jr. and James Garcia; his stepchildren, Teresa Closs, Jana Closs, Carla, Boe Lobdell and Steve Closs; and his sisters, Jacinta (Tony Garcia Sr.), Lupe Garcia (Elle Cadiz), Sylvia Mendoza, Frances (Dan Pena), Irene Garcia, Janie Acosta (Arthur Hernandez), Ysabel (Victor Murrieta) and Olivia (Arthur Pachicano). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
