He is survived by: his wife Ruthie Walker Rainey of Perryton, Texas; his children, Michael Rainey, Suzanne Rainey and Katrina Valdez; his stepchildren, Jimmy Don Edmondson, Randy Grayson and Ruth Ann Splan; and his siblings, Jerry Rainey (Patsy) of Brownwood, Larry Rainey (Brenda) of Omaha, Darlene Lowe of Dublin and Linda Bean of Dublin. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren.
