He was predeceased by: his parents, James E. Whitehead and Jesse Whitehead (Reger); his son Jason Whitehead; and his brother Jim Whitehead. He is survived by: his wife Judy Whitehead; his children, Dr. Jarel Whitehead of Perryton, TX and Dr. Janelle Whitehead of Grapevine, TX; and his sister Janice Henson of Perryton, TX. He is also survived by nine grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Perry Memorial Library, Perryton, TX; or to Gideons International.
