She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Merriman Hess and Ethel Freeman Hess; her son James Merriman Kelsay; her husband Royal Edward Kelsay; her children, Janet Elaine Kelsay of Dallas, Royal Edward Kelsay III of Divide and Douglas Martin Kelsay of Bastrop; and her sister Virginia Hess Fender of Glenview. She was also cherished by ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.
