He was predeceased by: his father Humberto Villareal. He is survived by: his mother Juanita Elizondo; his wife Sandra Torres; and his children, Hector David Contreras (Rosaly), Ramiro Contreras Jr. (Mariana), Noel Contreras (Elizabeth) and Selena Contreras (Marcial). He is also survived by numerous siblings, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
