He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Jasper Hinton and Opal Hattie Bazar; and his siblings, Ovelia McCullough, Lois Moore, Betty Jean Zernick, Marylee Tardy, Joyce Ann Whitehurst and Clyde.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Hinton; his children, Leslie Ross (Tom), Carrie Griffin (Julie) and John Hinton (Marian); his grandchildren, Barrett, Blake Griffin (Brittany), Ashley, Michael Ross and Drew Hinton; his former wife Carolyn Hinton (Rogers); and his sister-in-law Doris Hinton. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
At 83-years-old, he had endured a 4-year battle with Alzheimer's after surviving a major heart attack and defeating Guillain Barre several years earlier.
