He is survived by: his wife Peggy Weaver Atherton; his children, Hilary Spivey (Rob), Gari-Anne Smith (Brandon), Jackie Atherton and Ross Atherton (Nicole); and his sister Linda Rippetoe of Duncan. He is also survived by ten grandchildren.
