He was predeceased by: his daughter Donna Sue Fowler of Snyder; his brothers, Cecil Shearer and Delbert Shearer; and his grandchildren, Jimmy Joe Fowler, Lezli Fowler Marvel and Annie Shearer.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy King Shearer; his children, Jim Shearer of Horseshoe Bay, TX and Kathy Shearer of Houston; his stepdaughter Laura Keller (Karl) of Houston; his brother Harold Shearer (Pat) of Spartanburg, SC; and his grandchildren, Jeff Fowler (Tiffany) of Lubbock, Joell Baker (Eric) of San Angelo, Holly Harrison (James) of Bellville, Kendall Keller and Caroline Keller of Houston. He is also survived by many great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
