She was predeceased by: her husband Francisco Sotelo Sr.; her daughters, Lucia and Florina Sotelo; her parents, Benito Escontrias and Santana Lopez; and her siblings, Maria Elena Barraza, Rosendo, Jose, Faustino and Petronilo Escontrias.
She is survived by: her children, Lorenza (Rene Salgado), Martha Pando, Araceli (Sergio Hernandez), Alma Sotelo (Miguel), Jose Sotelo (Mary Jane), Francisco E. Sotelo Jr. and Eriberto Sotelo (Annette); and her siblings, Teodoro, Cipriano, Jesus Manuel Escontrias, Leonila Escontrias, Anita Alvarado, Nestora Baez, Emilia Holguin and Irene Caballero. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 1st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Pecos Funeral Home (607 W 3rd St, Pecos, TX 79772). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 1st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A rosary was held on Wednesday, January 1st 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Saint Catherine Catholic Church (1201 S Plum St, Pecos, TX 79772).
