He was predeceased by: his wife Maria Olga Fernandez; and his daughter Elma Nora Granado. He is survived by: his children, Moises Fernandez, Jr. (Graciela), Adriana Garza (Valdemar) and Yolanda Ferdin (Esteban). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
