He was predeceased by: his parents, Reyes Gonzales and Concepcion Recio Gonzales; his grandchild Ivana Gonzales; his son-in-law Angel A. Medrano; and his siblings, Genaro, Benito, Gonzalo, Reyes Jr., Jose, Enriqueta, Estella, Maria and Eva.
He is survived by: his wife Oralia Hernandez Gonzales; his children, Maria Adriana Medrano and Lionel Gonzales Jr. (Alice); his grandchildren, Melissa Elizondo (Roland), Michael Medrano, Matthew Medrano, Julian R. Gonzales and Rosangela L. Gonzales; and his sister Englentina Mata. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, nieces and nephews.
