He was predeceased by: his parents, Mauricio Olivarez and Candida Gonzales Olivarez; his former wife Maria Graciela Olivarez; and his siblings, Juan Olivarez, Tomas Olivarez, Issac Olivarez and Santos Pineda.
He is survived by: his wife Juanita Castillo Olivarez of Dilley'; his children, Gerardo Olivarez, Cynthia Elizondo (Abel Sr.), Henna Raja (Azhar), Guadalupe Olivarez (Norma) and Brenda Lee Olivarez (Cesar Carillo Sr.); his siblings, Jesus "Chuy" Olivarez, Alfredo Olivarez, Lorenzo Olivarez, Maria Gonzales, Jesus Saldivar and Rosa Bernal; and his nephew Robert Olivarez. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
