He was predeceased by: his parents, Ignacio Villanueva Sr. and Nasaria Cantu Villanueva; his wife Fidela Villanueva; his sons, Jose Delmiro Villanueva and David Villanueva; and his siblings, Ysidro Villanueva, Juan Villanueva and Gregoria Villanueva. He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
