He was predeceased by: his parents, Teodora Lopez Valdez and Macario Valdez; his brother-in-law Artemio Perez; and his uncles, Santiago Lopez and Lino Lopez.

He is survived by: his children, Albert Valdez Jr. (Yovonka) of Pearsall, Valerie Hernandez (Rafael) of Houston, Nathan Valle Sr. (Darlene) of New Braunfels and Alyson Perez (Phillip) of Pearsall; and his siblings, Mary Perez of Pearsall and Rudy Valdez (Rebecca) of Devine. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.
