Velma Faye Prothro Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Velma Faye Prothro of Pearland, Texas, who passed away on December 6, 2024 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jay Worthy and Octavia Worthy; her brothers, Roy Jay Worthy (Aline), Claude Worthy, Cecil Worthy (Beulah), Benny Worthy (Janey) and Edward Worthy (Margie); and also Olivia Gant.
She is survived by: her husband Charles Prothro; her children, Charlette Sandell (Randy), Denise Prothro (Lonnie) and Allen Prothro (Michelle); her grandchildren, Kelly Turner, Craig Sandell, Chaz Prothro (Jessica), Amanda Garza (Aldan) and Casey Prothro (Heydi); and her great grandchildren, Hannah Buckley (David), Samantha Gant, Madison Garza, Aviana Garza, Evan Prothro, Sophia Prothro, May Prothro, Lexi Prothro and Nathan Prudencio. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 11th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Bruno's Italian Kitchen. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, December 11th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Crowder Funeral Home (2422 E Broadway St, Pearland, TX 77581). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, December 11th 2024 at 3:30 PM at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park (4955 Pine St, Beaumont, TX 77703).
