He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Doherty and Anna Doherty (Doyle); his close friend Shirley McPeak; and his brothers, Mike, John and Frank.
He is survived by: his former wives, Linda Doan and Norma Cropsey; his children, Shawn Carter (Karen), Tommy Doherty (Kellie) and Brenda Laskoskie; his grandson Braden Doherty; his nephew Shawn Doherty; his great-nephews, Cody Kreft, Jared Vavrecka, Justin Wiseman, Clay Kreft and Jared Freiley; and also, Shelly McPeak, Carole Kota and James McPeak. He is also survived by great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the South Park Funeral Home (1310 N Main St, Pearland, TX 77581). A vigil service was held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church (6502 County Rd 48, Manvel, TX 77578). A burial was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the South Park Cemetery (1310 N Main St, Pearland, TX 77581).
