He was predeceased by: his parents, Alonzo Gongora and Herminia Gongora; his brother Jorge Gongora (Estela Romero Gongora); his parents-in-law, Octavio and Guadalupe Romero; and his son-in-law Armando Manual Ordaz.
He is survived by: his siblings, Alonzo Gongora (Dolores), Rafael Gongora (Margarita), Tino Gongora (Alice), Adela Flores (Oscar), Eleazar Gongora, Hector Gongora (Brenda), Joe Gongora (Elva), Nelda Gongora, Gus Gongora (Christina) and Christina Gongora (Gilbert); his daughters, Melinda Gongora Ordaz, Melissa Gongora Martinez (Manuel) and Danielle Joyce (Brandon); and his wife Stela.
