He is survived by: his wife Betty; his siblings, Billie McCown, Violet Young, Emily Wyatt and Bobby Simpson; his children, Welton Simpson, Jr. (Sharon), Daniel Simpson (Kathleen) and Robert Simpson (Jan); his grandchildren, Lindsey Simpson, Lacey (Tyler Baker), Noah, Kyle, Cole Simpson, Cameron, Colin Strieder and Braden Simpson; and his great grandchild Henry Grayson Baker.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his name to the American Cancer Society.
