He was predeceased by: his parents, Vivian DeSoto and Adela DeSoto; his sister Laverne DeSoto; his daughter Rachael Laverne Daves; his stepson Ronald Ray Murphy; his brother-in-law Arthur Kelley; his granddaughter Sarah Ray; and his great grandchild Caleb Smith.
He is survived by: his daughter Rafaela DeSoto-Ray; his son-in-law Joshua of Abilene, Texas; his friend Barbara Elizondo of Abilene, Texas; his stepchildren, Ralph Murphy (Debbie) of Brownsboro and Dianne Heisel (Christian) of Electra, Texas; his grandchildren, Amanda, Benjamin, Callie, Kristopher, Sabrina, Shawn, Shelby and Timothy; and his siblings, Vivian (Dorcas) of San Antonio, Xavier (Angeles) of Kenner, Timothy of Kenner, Louisiana Irene Dickey (Douglas) of Los Angeles, Benjamin of Ogden and Utah Adela Kelley of Whitney.
