He was predeceased by: his parents, Abraham Escareno and Antonia Guerrero Escareno; his wife Evangelina H. Escareno; his sons, Roy Escareno Jr. and David H. Escareno; and his siblings, Jesus Escareno, Lorenzo Escareno and Victoria Smith.

He is survived by: his children, Diane Escareno Zamora (Guadalupe), Abraham Escareno Sr., Vivian Escareno Longoria Cynthia R. (Ricardo), Neil E. Escareno Sr. (Deidre) and William G. Escareno (Mary); and his siblings, Abraham Escareno, Faustino Escareno and Maruca Mendoza. He is also survived by 39 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
