He was predeceased by: his parents, J. R. Hunt and Betty Jean Raper Hunt; and his son Casey Lyn Leitner. He is survived by: his niece Miranda Shay Twitty; his wife Jackie Perkins Hunt; his children, Michael Leitner (Amy), Ron "Bear" Hunt, Sandra Tyburczyk (Eduardo Amaya), Albert Lott (Heidi) and Jennifer Scott (Wayne); his grandchildren, Tinsley Leitner, Lara Leitner, Harris Leitner, Tyler Tyburczyk, Madison Tyburczyk, Jacob Lott, Savannah Lott, Lindsey Lewis and Logan Lewis; and his brother Jay Hunt (Kimberly). He is also survived by other loving relatives and friends.
