He was predeceased by: his parents, John Reece, Sr. and Alice Sartor Reece; and his brother Roy Reece. He is survived by: his wife Mildred Kominczak (Millie); his daughter Melanie Reece-Hodge (Anthony Hodge); his grandchildren, Kayla Hodge, Danielle Hodge and Anthony Hodge Jr. (Calvin); his sisters, Avis Hightower (Paul Hightower) and Sandy Reece Everett (Jay); and his sisters-in-law, Tammy Conover Reece and Margaret Fann (Dorothy Cendalski). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and friends.
