He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Medlin and Beulah Medlin; and his siblings, Billy Jack Medlin and Nita Upton. He is survived by: his brother Chuck; his sister-in-law Malena Medlin; his nieces and nephews, Tina Medlin-Chatham, Steve Upton, Tammy Medlin, Brett Upton and Kevin Medlin; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Denise, Brad Scarborough, Kayla Upton, Jerod Upton, Kyle Upton and Sadie Upton; and also Avery Scarborough.
