She was predeceased by: her parents, Leslie Switzer and Mary Lou Switzer. She is survived by: her husband Brad Carpenter; her siblings, Bernie Switzer, Mike Switzer (Sandie) and Carolyn Caudle; her daughters, Jody Isom, Tanya Weaver (Brad) and Melissa Sweezy (Ryan); and her grandchildren, Ryan Weaver, Cameron Weaver, Jared Isom, Madison Bolejack (Braden), Drake Sweezy and Luke Sweezy.

Visitation was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Central Baptist Church (210 W X St, Deer Park, TX 77536). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Grand View Funeral Home & Memorial Park/Bethany Cemetery (8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena, TX 77505).

In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to Central Baptist Church Deer Park in Joanne's honor.
