She was predeceased by: her parents, Sayde E. Phillips and Paul E. Phillips (Phil); and her brothers, Richard Phillips, Robert Phillips and Bruce Phillips.
She is survived by: her husband John Ray Smith; her children, John Ray Smith, Jr. (Jennifer Ann), Jennifer Kay Newman (Jon) and Jill Anne Smith; her grandchildren, Jacob Smith (Kendall), Emily Smith, Alyssa Smith, Madeline Newman, Katie Newman (Victor Gonzalez), Adrianne Newman (Ernesto Felan), Caleb King (Caitlin Martin) and Rachel King; and her great grandchild Henry Clay Sclease.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorials be made to Project Joy & Hope, Sarah's House, Hope Village or St. Hyacinth Catholic Church.
