He was predeceased by: his father Fortunato Bernal Sr.; and his brother Sammy Bernal. He is survived by: his mother Theresa Bernal; his wife Paula Bernal; his children, Brenda Gutierrez, Cynthia Wetzel (Michael Wetzel), Daniel Bernal (Sarah Bernal) and Rudy Alaniz (Michelle Alaniz); his grandchildren, Andrew Ramos, Dinora Alaniz, Natalia Alaniz, Bree Gutierrez, Zoey Bernal and Ava Wetzel; his stepgrandchild Kara Wetzel; and his siblings, Tommy, Fred, Joe, Gilbert, Bertha Garcia and Tanya Bernal. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
