It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Virginia Louise Freelen (Paris, Texas), who passed away on October 25, 2024, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Timothy Wayne and Eula Songer Thomas; her husband Frankie James Freelen; and her siblings, Songer Alvin Thomas, Inez Luttrell, Estelle Thomas, Martha Briscoe and Katherine Patterson.
She is survived by: her aunt Mickie; her sister Mickie; her children, Linda Mitchell, James A. Freelen (Patricia), Joyce Shelton (Kenneth) and Tammy Freelen (Charles Goldsmith); her grandchildren, Roger Mitchell, James Mitchell, James E. Freelen, Jason Freelen, Brittany Henry, Dylan Henry, LeAnn Decker, Jesse Shelton, Anita Henry and Kenneth Shelton Jr.; her sisters-in-law, Frances Thomas and Sharon Freelen; and her niece Margaret Whitley. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 29th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home (730 Clarksville St, Paris, TX 75460). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the East Post Oak Missonary Baptist Church (5987 FM1502, Blossom, TX 75416). A burial was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the East Post Oak Cemetery.
