She was predeceased by: her parents, William Joseph and Eula Naomi Curington; her husband Sam Embrey; and her children, Tonja Basinger Murray and Gregory William Basinger.
She is survived by: her daughter Yulon Basinger; her daughter-in-law Joyce Basinger; her granddaughter Heidi Slaughter (Rex); her great grandchildren, Haley and Natalie Slaughter; and her niece Yuvonia Mardis. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
