He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Sue Kilpatrick and Cary Wymer Wood; his sister Brenda Wood; his former wife Mary Ann Bell; his wife Pamela Wood; and his stepson Matt Story.
He is survived by: his sisters, Mary Margaret Garza, Sherry Wolfe and Charlotte Daughterty; his children, Sammi Lynn Betham of Virginia and Cary Samuel "Bud" Wood; his grandchildren, Alaina, Liam Shaw, Aidan and Lily Ward; and also, Brandon, Bradley, Bella and Blake Wood.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 8th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home (730 Clarksville St, Paris, TX 75460). A funeral service was held on Sunday, December 8th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Tigertown Cemetery.
