He is survived by: his siblings, Mary Ellen Bird Evens and Robert D. Bird; his stepchildren, Tony Stafford (Phyllis), Teresa Stafford, Terry Murray and Sherry Garza; his grandchildren, Tiffany Kirkpatrick (Nathan), April Rogers, Amber Stafford Weir (Jeremy) and TJ Stafford (Cait); and his great grandchildren, Avery Weir, Kinley Weir, Toby Kirkpatrick, Spence Kirkpatrick and Duke Walker Stafford. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
