He was predeceased by: his parents, Hubert Sims and Dixie Sims; his son Daniel Thomas Sims; and his siblings, Nancy Dunlap and Hubert Sims.
He is survived by: his wife Jane Lawrence; his daughter Sherry Sims Raabe (Greg) of Frankfort, Kentucky; his siblings, Lou Ann Padavich (Skeeter) of Bastrop, Jill Dutton (Kevin) of Katy, Dickey Sims (Margot) of Hereford and Gary Sims (Diane) of League City; his siblings-in-law, Sue Bryant (Vernon) of Indianapolis, Linda Culver of Indianapolis, Eleaner Henry (Gene) of Jacksonville, Florida and Jimmy Lawrence of Indianapolis, Indiana; and his pet Handsome. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
