It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rodney Betts of Pampa, Texas, born in Hobbs, New Mexico, who passed away on December 9, 2021, at the age of 58, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Ollie Betts and Pearlie Mae Betts; and his brothers, Robbie Betts and Roger Betts. He is survived by: his sister Gayla Dawn Betts of Borger; his stepsiblings, Barbara Pryor (Joe) of Burleson, Glenna Pool of Mannford, Oklahoma and Clifford Baileys (Vanessa) of Woodward, Oklahoma; and his niece Chesica Beedle of Raton.

“You left us way to early my brother. Rodney was our friend, our brother and our shipmate. He was a part of one of the best submarine crews in the entire US Navy. He is missed by all his brothers from the USS LaJolla, but we’ll all be together for more laughs and stories one day. Until then he can rest his oars as we have the watch. Rest In Peace my friend.
