He was predeceased by: his parents, John DeWitt and Veatrice DeWitt; his significant other Emma Wright; his siblings, J. W. DeWitt, Irene DeWitt, Billie James and Joyce Robberson; and his daughter Linda McCain.
He is survived by: his children, Noel Ray DeWitt of Pampa, Diana Kay Shephard of Pampa, Damon Russell DeWitt of Pampa and Cecelia Ann Cloud (Alan) of Pampa; and his grandchildren, Camillia Roberts (Stuart), Keith Mason (Ann), Michael DeWitt (Chelsea), Marcus Shephard (Jennifer), Jon Shephard (Cassie), Kara Miller (Heath), Leigh Hanson (Chris), Charity DeWitt, Tiffany Hill, LaDonna Barnhart (Kevin), Delta Etheridge, Rusty DeWitt (Lisa), Lynsey DeWitt, Chance Henley, Dylan Henley (Johanna) and Calee Fisher (Micheal). He is also survived by 42 greatgrandchildren; 15 great-greatgrandchildren; and other extended family.
