She was predeceased by: her parents, L. V. Byrd and Helen Young; and her daughter Stephanie Velasquez. She is survived by: her husband Domingo Velasquez of Pampa; her daughters, Amy Velasquez of Pampa and Latasha Velasquez of Pampa; her grandchildren, Isaiah Velasquez, Jaden Velasquez and Grayson Velasquez; her brother W. T. Young; and her close friend Evan Merrell. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
