He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Grimes and Ellena Gullett Grimes; and his grandson Cory Wayne Purcell. He is survived by: his wife Delia Ann Grimes; his children, Christy Ann Fanelli (Melvin Workman) of Virginia Beach, Cyndy Diane Cox (Scott Brooks) of Rhome, Julie Gallagher (Daniel) of Havre, Jacquita Deaver of Polson and James Grimes of Fritch; his brother Melvin Grimes (Judy) of Linda, California; his grandchildren, Lauren Fanelli, Morgan Cox, Carson Cox, Paul Grimes, Michael Grimes, Jermy Thomas, Jeremiah Purcell, Zackery Purcell, Jacob Grimes, Jamie Grimes, Clarissa Grimes, Raceton Grimes and Natalie Grimes; and his friend Evelyn Grimes. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
