He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Bettye Nabours; his brothers-in-law, Darrel Beckwith and Jim Lanier; his children, Toren Dale Smith of Pampa, Abdalla Elkouka of Irving, TX and Yvette Mychelle Johnson of Pampa; and his siblings, Jessie Nabours (Grace) of Wichita Falls, TX, Robert Nabours of Clovis, NM, Charles Nabours of Clovis, NM, Jimmie Nabours of Aransas Pass, TX, Esther Beckwith of Clovis, NM, Roberta Nabours of Amarillo and Delores Murray (Jay) of Port Byron, NY. He was also cherished by several grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
