He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Carmichael (Herman Whatley) and Myrle Chambers Carmichael; and his son Mark Allen Carmichael. He is survived by: his wife Virginia Platt; his children, Doug Carmichael (Sara) of Pampa and Ann Holloway (John) of Dallas; his granddaughters, Ann Harter (Eric) of Arlington, VA and Lee Evans (Will Evans) of Augusta, GA; and his great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Katherine Evans and Grace Harter.
