He was predeceased by: his parents, W. W. Beard, Sr. and Zora Miller Beard; his wife Mary; his son Roger Chaney; and his siblings, Will Ray Turner of James Curtis, Velma Mae Smith, Dora Jean Hillman, Myrtis Beard and William "Bill" Beard.
He is survived by: his children, Bill of Kaufman, TX, Otis of Huntsville, TX, Veronica of Kaufman, TX and Joe. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
