He was predeceased by: his parents, Margarito Alvarado and Victoria Alvarado; his son Joe Alvarado; and his significant other Patricia Ann Crum. He is survived by: his children, Edward Alvarado, Gracie Handy and Blanca Gonzalez; his sisters, Wilma Alvarado, Estefana Ginn, Anita Alvarado, Maggie Sparbo, Mercedes Alvarado and Julia Trinidad; and his niece Sheli Johnson. He is also survived by nineteen grandchildren.
