She was predeceased by: her parents, Ethel Lee Peninger Byars and Emmett Smith Byars; her brothers, Don Byars and Emmett Lee Byars; her grandson Jasen Neal; and her former husband Houston Neal.
She is survived by: her husband Charles Barnes of Palestine; her children, Theresa Smith of Lubbock, Sheran Murdock (Gary) of Ft. Smith and Bob Neal (Nikki) of Sulphur Springs; her stepdaughter Brenda Walker (Stack) of Palestine; and her sisters, Carol Meyer of Borger and Marietta (Dennis Hood) of Amarillo. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and one step-Grandson, eleven great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to Joyce's favorite charity, Cal Farley's Boys Ranch, Amarillo.
