Joy B. Swift Obituary
We are sad to announce that on January 26, 2025, at the age of 94, Joy B. Swift of Palestine, Texas, born in Starkville, Mississippi passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Joy B. Swift to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her grandson William Bentley; her parents, Wilma Bingham of San Angelo and E. F. Bingham (Bing) of Midland; and her sisters, Wanda Sikes, Jane Collins and Connie Harrell.
She is survived by: her children, Dick Swift (Susan), Carol Bentley (Bascom Bentley), Matt Swift (Colleen) and Julie Swift; and her siblings, Buzz Bingham of Arkansas and Mahaska Whitney of Florida. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Christian Church (113 E Crawford St, Palestine, TX 75801).
In her early years, Joy was president of the PTA, a Cub Scout Den Mother, taught the adult Sunday school class at First Christian Church, and was a volunteer for many charities including the March of Dimes and American Heart Association.
