He was predeceased by: his parents, Noel McLaughlin and Lucile Kline McLaughlin; his wife Bobbie Jean McLaughlin; his sons, Jason McLaughlin and Lindy Melton; and his daughter-in-law Pam Melton.
He is survived by: his children, Stacey McLaughlin, Karen Butler, Cynthia Winarski and Dennis Melton (Peggy); his siblings, Frances McElroy, Marie Goodwin and Joe McLaughlin; and his brother-in-law L. A. Seabourne (Bonnie). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
