With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Charles Richard Hilderbrand of Palacios, Texas, born in Austin, Texas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 15, 2024 at the age of 74. He was predeceased by: his parents, Otis Taylor Hilderbrand and Grace Marie Barr Hilderbrand; and his daughter Margaret Grace Hilderbrand. He is survived by: his wife Karen Scherer Hilderbrand; his son Charles Taylor Hilderbrand; his stepchildren, Cory Odefey (Cindy) and Sara Brown (Chris); his sister Peggy Nelson; his niece Kimberly Norman (Sean); his nephew Corey Nelson (Amber); and his grandchildren, Christopher, Jade, Taylor Odefey, Elizabeth and Preston Brown.

Friends and family may make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, the Parkinson's Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
