She was predeceased by: her son Kenneth Paul Cheek; her husband Dennis Cheek Sr.; her stepchildren, Hiram "Hidy" Cook, Dennis "Junior" Cheek Jr., Dennesa Gail Cheek and Deanna "Sissy" Griffin (Meador); and her father Lionel Smith Sr..
She is survived by: her mother Willie Mae Smith of Arp, TX; her son Darrell Cheek (Tracy) of Overton, TX; her stepson Derick "Bubba" Cheek (Carmen) of Ball, LA; her siblings, Genevieve Chambers (Gary) of Lafayette, LA, Lionel "LJ" Smith (Cathy) of Rayne, LA, Edward "Butch" Smith (Theresa) of Broussard, LA, Phillip Smith (Tammy) of Arp, TX and Ronald Smith (Charlotte) of Lafayette, LA; and her brother-in-law Francis Comeaux of Kenner, LA. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
